Accomplishment

April 9th, 2010 at 8:19 am

The colormatching of the bumper markers is complete.  Yes, I am happy about the outcome, but there is another accomplishment that is a little higher on the charts right now…

A very big thank you to everything that made Projekt-GIB (the “murdered” version) what it was.  This is the true nail in the coffin.  She will be missed, but will never be forgotten.

Do Not Want

April 7th, 2010 at 8:31 am

Well, the plastidipped bumper markers are a no go.

They do not match the textured black pieces that go around the outer edge of the wheel wells.

They will be getting stripped and colormatched as soon as possible!

Easter Sunday Progress

April 5th, 2010 at 8:35 am

It was 70 and sunny yesterday so I decided to do some trimming on the rear fenders to eliminate the tire rubbing on hard cornering and such.

I trimmed what I thought the tires were rubbing on but on my way to work today turning to get onto the entrance ramp to the freeway, the drivers side tire was rubbing.

No clue what it could be rubbing on now.  I will have to do another examination to figure out what the hell is going on.

I did however figure out how to remove the front bumper markers so those will be coming out sometime this week for a Plastidipping.

Still working on trying to get the rear bumper reflectors out.  I couldn’t get them removed yesterday as time was running out and I had to get to dinner.  Each of them are held in with three tabs.  All three of which were not budging!

Odds & Ends

April 2nd, 2010 at 10:02 am

After driving for a day with the wheels on, I noticed rubbing coming from the rear.  The outer most portion of the tire is hitting the edge of the textured plastic part of the fender on the underside.

I am going to get under there with a Dremel and take a little plastic off to eliminate the rubbing.

While I am at it, I am going to remove the front bumper markers and Plastidip them.

I still need to figure out how to remove the rear bumper reflectors so I can Plastidip those as well.

Oh yeah, and I still need to purchase a cargo box.
